How to Create a Google business profile

You can use both your computer and mobile phone to create and manage your business profile. 

Visit  business.google.com, or use the Google Map app and register any of your enterprises. 

In both of them follow these steps to create your own: 


Step 1: On Your Google Maps or website address 

While using the web address type business.google.com on your browser and click the search button.

On the next page click "Manage now"

Search and claim your business name. 

If you can't find it in the list, tap Add your business to Google to add a custom name. And then jump to step 2 in this very tutorial. 


Well! if you prefer to use the Google Maps app just open it and...

Tap your Google account profile picture or initials in the top right. 

In the drop-down menu, tap Add your business. 


Step 2: Select the types of your business. (Using Map app or website)

Input your business name and category, and click next. 


Step 3: Add a business location 

This helps your clients to easily come to you. 

• Fill in your contact location and click next. 

• Choose your business location on the Map by dragging the red tag to your exact business location. 

If you didn't see your location on the Maps, tap the location icon on the left-hand side, and it will find your current location. If your current location was the same as your business spot, just click next to save, if not, you will then drag the red marker to your exact business spot.

Step 4: Proceed to create your business profile 

• If your business includes delivering to customers, then tick yes

• Add your contact information (optional). 

• Select if you want further recommendations for your business by Google. 


Step 5: Verify your business ownership 

Select the method Google will send you a verification code (phone number or email).

Enter the code and continue. 


Note: You need to verify your ownership for your business profile to be visible to customers on Google searches and Maps. 

You can skip verification and do it later. 


Step 6: Add some of the services you offer at your business center (optional). This helps your customers to know more about your business. 


Step 7: Add Business Hours 

Signify your opening and closing hours. This also helps your customers to know your working days and time. 

Turn on the toggle for each of your business working days and input the opening and closing hours for each day. And toggle off for nonworking days.

• Turn on the message toggle to allow the customers to message your business on Google. 


Step 8: Add a short description of your business

This appears next to your business name in Google Search and Maps. 

• Add relevant photos of your business and services. 

• Advertise your business with Google ads if you want, you can skip this option. 


How to manage my business Profile in Google

You can manage your business profile both on Google Search and Maps, by conforming to the same process. 

On Google Maps tap " your business profile".

Or search for your business name in Google Search and manage it. 

You can edit or add new information to your business profile.
